Dutch architects have, in their own country, accumulated knowledge and experience in tackling spatial issues that also pose a challenge in other parts of the world.

Such issues include, for example, providing affordable yet decent housing for large population groups; building in densely populated, urbanised areas; the reuse and repurposing of existing buildings; and accommodating the growing mobility requirements, sustainability demands, causes and consequences of climate change, and many other contemporary issues that are turning any construction assignment today into a complex challenge.
