The Kortenaerkade, Den Haag

Piet Zanstra, founder of ZZDP, was the architect of the building, that was built in the sixties. The big building was a major statement as a lot of old buildings were demolished to make room for the headquarters of OLVEH (AEGON) insurance. To put the right residential image on this spot was a very intense process that was carefully executed: The building had to be contextual, but also should stand out to its neighbours: The terracotta/ reddish color was put on a metal frame to give the building a strong tough appearance.
