Montessorischool Waalsdorp

Several components strengthen the feeling of light, air and space: glass folding doors, numerous open spaces and windows, and a beautiful finish with light wood. There is peace and quiet as well, thanks to the good acoustics and the spatial structure. The architects have linked together the different rooms just as beautifully and flexibly, in a more or less symmetrical composition. The cherry on the cake is the glass gym, which is placed in the middle of the floor.

On the outside, the building fits in with its surroundings, the 1930s residential district Benoordenhout. By following the horizontal lines of the neighboring building, in facades of yellow ‘Berlagian’ bricks, the continuity of the streetscape has been ensured.
